Niagara Metals Brings its First Class Recycling Service to Buffalo

Niagara Metals Set to Open 3rd and 4th Location

Niagara Metals, a privately held scrap metal recycling company headquartered in Niagara Falls NY with a feeder yard in Royalton NY, has added two new locations in Buffalo NY. A scrap metal recycling facility in North Buffalo and a rail transloading yard in Lackawanna. Niagara Metals acquired the assets and business of Ben Singer and Sons which included both the rail transloading yard and metal recycling facility.

The acquisition is a new direction for Niagara Metals which has grown organically after opening its first facility in 2006. In 2010 Niagara Metals opened its first feeder yard in Royalton NY approximately 40 minutes east of Niagara Falls. "We plan to grow in a disciplined manner. We now have experience in acquiring existing businesses and starting from scratch", - Niagara Metals Spokesperson. Niagara Metals is excited and ready to provide the Buffalo market with the same first class service it has provided in Niagara Falls for the last 6 years.

Niagara Metals to Retain all Employees
This is more than just an acquisition, both families have done business for years. Niagara Metals is owned by Todd Levin whose family began operating in the metal industry in 1898. The Levin and Singer families have done business together for over 50 years. All Ben Singer and Sons employees will keep their jobs and work for Niagara Metals. Lee Singer, President of Ben Singer and Sons will be joining the management team of Niagara Metals.

The metal recycling industry continues to grow at a rapid pace and Niagara Metals prides itself on unparalleled service and innovation allowing the recycler to stay ahead of the curve. The company will upgrade and add to the existing equipment at the North Buffalo facility by installing a second truck scale, improved environmental controls, building new offices, and adding new truck-level loading docks.
